This piece expresses my love for my partner Phil. My favorite color is red, his is purple and the center pane represents our connection. We've been together for 16 years.

The pieced background blocks were pieced using Kari Alexander's "Stack the Deck" technique. The hearts are appliquéd.

Shortly after finishing this quilt, I appeared in a benefit production of JEFFREY as the character of Sterling. I made a similar quilt to donate to the silent auction. It was called DARIUS & STERLING FOREVER - named after the couple in the play.
